Hunting in Ukraine

If you've never been to Ukraine, its inimitable beauty is sure to astonish you at the very arrival. Mother nature has been generous to this country. The magnificent dense forests, the pure waters of mountain streams, the picturesque lakes, the blue Carpathian Mountains and the mighty Dnepr river are just some of the marvelous views that are sure to impress the most demanding tourist.

Ukraine's nature is not only good to look at, but it is also rich. Not only the beauty of its landscapes, but also the wide variety of local hunting estates will pleasantly surprise you. Due to the unique location and mild climate, this land is abundant in mammals, birds and fish living in natural conditions. Altogether, you can hunt 30 species of quadrupeds and 90 bird species, as well as catch 150 species of fish here. This abundance makes hunting and angling in Ukraine an exciting and rewarding experience.

o       Location

‘Rakitnoye’ hunting area is located in 50 km from Kharkiv close to the Valki and Novaya Vodolaga regional centers. The total area is 11423 hectares, including 5761hectares of woods, 5450 hectares of arable lands, 193 hectares of swampy soil and 19 hectares of other lands. The hunting area is a hilly plain, cut with the Mzha, Cheremsha, Chernecha rivers (the total length of the rivers on the hunting area territory is up to 12 km). Forestry is composed of coniferous forests, woods and mixed wood.

  o       Getting there.

You can arrival to Kharkiv by direct flight Vienna-Kharkiv or travel by car, train or airplane from Kyiv (Ukraine), Moscow-Domodedovo (Russia) airports.

Distance from Kharkiv to ‘Rakitnoye’ - 50 km

Time in a way from Kyiv up to Kharkiv:

By the car - 6 hours;

By train ‘Express train’ - 5 hours 45 minutes;

By the airplane - 1 hour 10 minutes.

  o       Accommodation

The accommodation are in the immediate vicinity to the hunting area (10km, 15 minutes drive) and they vary according to location.

Most of the lodges are in two-storey buildings. On the ground floor there is a sitting room with the fire place, a dinning area and a bar. On the second floor a billiard hall, 3 deluxe rooms with in-build modern conveniences and 2 Semi-deluxe rooms (a single and a double) with partial conveniences (one common bathroom is on the same floor) for all rooms.

  By request, the client can upgrade to a hotel in Kharkiv, in the city center, the cost is:

    Single standard room – 65 euro per night

    Suites: Single 2 room deluxe suite - 80 euro per night

    Double semi-lux - 95 euro per night

    Double 2 room deluxe suite  - 130 euro per night

All the rooms are equipped with a TV,  refridgerator, bathrooms.

The breakfast is included.

  o       Meals

The cost of the tour includes 3 meals per day (standard menu includes breakfast, dinner and packed lunch)

Special ordered meals, alcoholic beverages are at an additional cost.

  o       Transport during the hunt

Tour cost includes transportation by 4xD vehicles (UAZ and Niva). By request the jeeps are available.
