Bulgaria is the perfect destination for those in search of trophy red deer, wild boar, wildcat and mouflon. Bulgaria holds 4 world records. The red deer was evaluated at 273.60 point, the Bulgarian world record for wild boar is 158.20 points, the wild cat, better known as lynx at 82.99 points and the famous mouflon trophy at 222.45 points. Bulgaria has one of the best red deer populations in the world at over 22,500 and it ranks second in the world for trophy quality.

Besides the world trophy games mentioned, Bulgaria is a renowned destination for brown bear hunting, chamois, wolf, capercaillie, roe, red stag and fallow deer.

Small Game @ Bulgaria

Bulgaria offers excellent capercaillie hunts, being one of the best in Eastern Europe. Bulgaria also offers premium pheasant, turtledove, quail, pigeon, partridge, woodcock, goose and wild duck hunts, the seasons vary according to the species.

Our hunting programs are based on arrival into Sofia Int'l Airport or into Bucharest, a 1.5 hour ride from Bucharest International Airport.

The duck hunts are best from mid-end of October thru February along the Black Sea and the Danube River. Goose Hunts best from October 01 to January 31, in Shabla, weighing between 0.8 to 1.5 kg. If hunting in this area, Bucharest is the best point of entry.

Woodcock, best hunted from November thru February in the south of Bulgaria. Each bird weighs aprox 150-400 gr, and the area we hunt in is Primorsko - Achtopol, aprox 40,000 hectares along the Black Sea, where the land a mix of hills and flat land.
